Sendhwa : A middle aged woman was brutally murdered by yet to be identified person in front of her minor son. Police suspect property dispute behind the murder.
The ghastly incident occurred at village Chikhli where 50 years old Keni Bai wife of Gulab Singh was deep asleep in the house on the intervening night of Wednesday-Thursday.
An unidentified person entered the house and assaulted her on chest with a sharp edged weapon repeatedly.
Undeterred by the sudden fatal attack, the woman tried to nab the attacker prompting him to flee and also chased him. However, she fell midway during the chase. Her 10 years old son Anar Singh also ran after the attacker but the accused managed to escape in the dark.
The victim was taken to government hospital early in the morning where she was declared brought dead. Sources claimed that had she got medical aid immediately, she could have survived.
Investigating officer RR Patidar claimed that the husband of the victim had died 4 years back and her brother in-laws used to harass her over the land and did not allow agriculture at the land.
Police suspect that the land dispute could be the reason behind her murder. A case of murder was registered at rural police station on the complaint of uncle of the woman and police are investigating the case.
