MANAWAR : In a shocking incident, four persons, including three of a family and a driver, were killed in a road mishap near Nanpur on early Saturday. Another two, including the daughter of the deceased and her friend, were critically injured in the accident, which occurred when the van, in which they were traveling, collided with a sand-loaded truck coming from the opposite direction near Nanpur.
The deceased have been identified as Vikram Singh (58), his wife Uma Devi, their 5-year-old grand son and driver of the van Surendra Singh. All were killed on the spot. Vikram Singh’s daughter Heena and her friend were seriously injured in the incident.
According to the police, Vikram Singh’s daughter Heena was not well after she met with an accident at Gandhi Chowk in Manawar last month. Heena had received fractured in her legs and was undergoing treatment both at Indore and Manawar.
Doctors advised Vikram Singh to take Heena to Vadodra (Gujarat) for better treatment. Worried about their daughter’s health, Vikram Singh and Uma Devi decided to take her to Vadodra for surgery.
On Saturday morning, Vikram Singh, Uma Devi, Heena, her friend and couple’s 5-year-old grand son along with driver Surendra Singh were going to Vadodara. Their van collided head on with a speeding sand-loaded truck near Nanpur.
Vikram Singh was employed with Power Distribution Company. His elder son is pursuing study at Pune. His elder daughter recently came to Manawar to visit her ailing sister and dropped her child at her parents’ house.
