Dewas (Madhya Pradesh): Disappointed at not find much cash at the house of a deputy collector of Dewas district, thieves left a handwritten note asking the government officer that he should not have locked his house if there was no money at home. The handwritten of thieves went viral on social media.

The deputy collector, Trilochan Gaur has lodged a complaint at the police station.

While Gaur is posted as sub-divisional magistrate in Khategaon block, his wife is working as a magistrate in Ratlam district.

In his complaint to police, Gaur said he and his wife visited their residence in Dewas only on weekend.

As per Gaur complaint, he and his wife had gone on their respective duties on September 20. The couple returned to their residence on October 9.

On return, they found the lock of their houses broken and cash of Rs 30000 and jewellery were missing from home. They also found a handwritten note, purportedly written by thieves.

The thief apparently used the government officer's note-pad and pen to write the note, police sources said.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident and registered an FIR against unidentified persons.

Notably, top district police officials live in the area where the SDM's official residence is located.
