Manawar : Manawar was complete ‘bandh’ on 4th day also after the communal clashes of January 12, while the Friday was the weekly market day for the town. On weekly market day, the rural residents of nearby villages use to come here to do weekly shopping. But, due to continued tension in the town, no any villager came in the town.
Makar Samkranti festival was there on Friday, which is the most important festival of Hindu community, but no crowd, was there in temples. The city residents did not offer grass to cattle as per the tradition. Meanwhile, the local administration allowed the local Muslim community to perform Friday Namaz amidst tight security. No any untoward incident was reported in the town of Friday. Heavy police force has been deployed in every corner of the town.
The administrative authorities instructed the municipal officials and employees to maintain the cleanliness, water supply and other necessary facilities in the town. Administration had also called a meeting of peace committee on Friday evening to maintain the law and order situation.
