R-Day: RAF contingent, PR dept tableau adjudged best

BHOPAL : In the Republic Day parade Lal Parade Ground here on Tuesday, the contingent of RAF stood first in Armed Wing and NCC Air Wing in Unarmed Wing.

Various departments took out attractive tableaux highlighting their schemes and achievements. Among them, Public Relations Department’s tableau captioned ‘ White Tiger – Unique Creation of Nature’ was adjudged first.

School children presented attractive dances to the tunes of patriotic songs. Of these, presentation ‘Woman from Birth to Salvation’ stood first. Second prize in Armed Wing in the parade was given to CISF and third to SSB’s contingent. Second prize in Unarmed Wing was conferred to NCC Naval Wing and third to NCC Senior Division Army Wing Girls contingent.

Second prize in tableaux was given to Jail Department and third to Water Resources Department’s tableau.

The Governor Ram Naresh Yadav unfurled the National Flag and took salute of parade at Lal Parade ground. Greeting people on the occasion, he said that Madhya Pradesh is among fastest growing states in the country. Benefits of development have started reaching last person in the last row.

The Governor said that SCs and STs have started joining mainstream of society by availing benefit of development schemes. The state government is committed to ensuring uplift of SCs and STs. The allocation for SC and ST sub-plans had grown by over 10 times during last 12 years.

Governor Yadav said that Simhastha would be held at Ujjain from April 22 to May 21. The state government has sanctioned Rs. 3200 crore to provide better facilities during the mega fair.

The Governor said that it is a matter of pride for Madhya Pradesh that it has maintained traditions of respect to all religions, peace, unity and harmony. Peace-loving people have always maintained peace and camaraderie.

The Governor exhorted citizens to contribute their mite to the state’s development with even more hard work and commitment.
