Special screening of Pink held for Mumbai Police officials

Ever since the time the hard hitting film Pink got released, it has only been garnering appreciation from all over for its hard-hitting subject. Everyone associated with the film, including its producer Shoojit Sircar, director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and the starcast Amitabh Bachchan, Tapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari and Andrea Tariang have been flooded with compliments galore.

Recently, in an attempt to sensitise the police personnel on gender violence and other issues plaguing women, Pink‘s producer Rashmi Sharma and the national award winning filmmaker Vibha Bakshi held a special screening of ‘Pink’ for the Mumbai Police department. The screening was attended by over two hundred top Mumbai Police’€™s officials, including Mumbai Police Commissioner Dattatray Padsalgikar.

Speaking about the event, Rashmi Sharma said, “My motive of associating with Pink was to convey a strong message to the society. With all the injustice happening with women, it is important to make people realize their humanity and responsibility towards every individual and raise a voice against gender discrimination.

Vibha, who has worked on very powerful films dealings with gender equality and woman empowerment, having her besides us is a privilege. After this screening, we are confident that the Mumbai Police will stand alongside us to spread the message of NO MEANS NO.” Vibha Bakshi, on her part, said, Films like Pink are a powerful medium to bring about change and we need more such fire power to come together. Proud to now join hands with Rashmi Sharma, the outstanding Pink team and grateful for the Police support to take the dialogue on gender bias forward. It will keep the movement going”.
