The actor rather than competing with others, believes in putting his best foot forward
A ctor Akshay Kumar, whose upcoming film ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara’ will hit the cinema houses soon, close on the heels with other big commercial films, says films are not made to “outdo” anyone in the industry. Rather as actors everyone is there to do their job to the best of their abilities.
“Definitely, we actors are here to perform our job to the best of our ability. We never know what will be the outcome of our films? I do not crave for number one position and so on. All I care for is to put in my best. I never have the intentions of trying to show down someone and bring all praises for myself. I just believe in hard work and being sincere to my profession,” says the actor.
Akshay who is all set to turn a villain in his upcoming flick is keeping the plot to himself, as he shares, “I would not know whether this villain’s ending is happy and positive. Either Milan will update you or you need to wait and watch!”
Being praised by veteran Hollywood actor Al Pacino, Akshay is almost on the seventh heaven and shares his happiness by saying, “Yes, he has not only praised my performances, but on the whole he has praised our film. Compliments coming from such a great star make all of us proud. He did say that he was reminded of his film ‘Godfather’ after watching it.”
The actor seemed in no mood to talk about the reactions of his family members and added, “Well, my people do not bother about commenting about my work. Infact, they feel whatever I do outside, I should keep it outside the house. All this does not bother them.
So, if I play a villain or a
Samaritan does not matter to them.”
His villainous act begins with the release of the film’s promo, to which he reacts and says, “Yes, as I am known to edit the roles of my fellow artists, I insisted Ekta and the editors to start this trend of releasing the villain’s promos as I don the villain’s avatar.”
The actor is all praises for co actor, Sonakshi Sinha and shares, “I have worked with her in three films. She has improved a lot. Especially, in this film, in every scene you will watch her talent oozing out of her. I am hopeful that she bags an award for this film.” While the actor says that he himself is not interested in the competition, he does wish for awards for his fellow actors. Guess, the actor has taken on the mantle of a good Samaritan.
