Ekta Kapoor has proved time and again of being a thorough professional. But off late the meek, obedient image of a dutiful daughter following the footsteps of her father has raised many eyebrows in the industry. Producing ‘Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbaai Dobaara’ under Balaji Production house, the film depicts the tale of a Don. But the real Don in the family is
Jeetendra and without his permission not a single change be made.
Smilingly she answers, “Yes, the release date of the film has been conveniently shifted to August 15 as per my dad’s orders. He belongs to the old school of thought. If at all he has promised someone, his promises
have to be kept. It is graciously accepted by all of us here. We need to obey our parents.”
Talking about how the film world is a close-knit industry, she shares, “We all understand that filmmaking is a profession where everyone looks forward to be successful. Moreover, Shah Rukh Khan had requested dad about shifting the date; we have to understand that each one’s product has to sell. It is important to give space to each one of us. We prefer settling things amongst ourselves rather than taking our disputes to media.”
The film stars Sonakshi Sinha, Imraan Khan and Akshay Kumar and is being directed by Milan Luthria. Looks like Ekta the undisputed queen at Balaji, does have someone she is answerable to.
