Hyderabad: Actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar says it’s quite easy to work with megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who is a positive personality and makes one feel comfortable on the sets.
“I was anxious to know how the days would be with him,” says Akhtar on Bachchan, his co-star in the upcoming film ‘Wazir’.
“But it’s very easy to work with him. He has a positive personality and keeps the atmosphere easy on the sets. So, the minute you reach the set and start talking to him, you will feel comfortable automatically. It is amazing to work with him,” Farhan told PTI here.
“I am still shooting with him as the film is not yet complete. It’s great to work with somebody like him and I am a huge admirer of his work. To get an opportunity to do a film where we are spending a lot of time, is very exciting for me,” he said.
Bachchan, 72, reportedly plays the role of a paralysed chess grandmaster and Farhan an ATS officer in the film, directed by Bejoy Nambiar and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
As for major mistakes committed by him in his film career and the regrets, the multifaceted Farhan said when ‘Lakshya’ – which he directed a decade ago – did not do quite well he felt really low.
But, it also taught him the value of moving on and the fact that one has to learn to get oneself out of things, hesaid.
“There will be good and bad times. You fail and succeed on your beliefs. I hope I can continue to entertain the audience. Nobody has a 100 per cent hit ratio in the world. You choose to do the work that you feel drawn towards creatively. Even if the film does not do well, you are still happy that you were involved with the film,” he said.
On his biggest fear in life, he said: “That nobody will turn up to watch my movie. I do not want to watch a film and in the middle of it realise that I should have done more preparation. On the lighter side, I have a major phobia for cockroaches!”
Farhan said he hasn’t thought about dream roles.
“I haven’t thought about it. I don’t know. I think given everything that is going on right now, from my professional life to my children, a lot of time needs to be given to the kids. So I haven’t thought about different roles.
“I feel grateful for everything going on right now and I hope it continues. But if something comes along and gets my interest then I will devote some time into it,” he added.
