Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon took to Instagram and shared the first glimpse of her look as a surrogate mother in the upcoming film ‘Mimi’.
The poster shows Kriti in an all-new look as she sports messy hair, kohl eyes and oxidised jewellery cradling her invisible baby bump with a surprised look on her face.
Kriti captioned it as, “This July, expect the extraordinary from the ordinary! Stay tuned.”
The movie is being directed by Laxman Utekar who previously helmed Kriti’s film ‘Luka Chuppi’.
‘Mimi’ will also feature Pankaj Tripathi and Marathi actor, Saie Tamhanar, Supriya Pathak and Manoj Pahwa.
Produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films in association with Jio Studios, ‘Mimi’ is based on Marathi film ‘Mala Aai Vhaaychy’ which won the National Award for Best Feature Film in Marathi in 2011.
Leaving no stone unturned for her role in the film, Kriti had put on 15 Kgs for her character.
"I am very excited. It's based on the subject of surrogacy but actually it's the story of this young girl who wants to be an actor. She's a dancer in Mandawa and she ends up being a surrogate for couple. Then, the things that follow change her life and also change her as a person," Kriti had told IANS.
She added: "It's a lot on me. It's around this character Mimi. It is very entertaining, a beautiful script. One of the most beautiful scripts I have read. You will have a lot of humour and situational humour. At the same time, there are a lot of characters you will take back home."
In a group interview, PTI quoted Kriti saying that she was bowled over by the script of the film, penned by Rohan Shankar, who had also written ‘Luka Chuppi’.
The actor said she was bowled over by the script of the film, penned by Rohan Shankar, who had also written "Luka Chuppi".
"It's a very special role for me because surrogacy is a topic that hasn't been explored so much here. The way Laxman sir makes the film and the way Rohan has written it, they have a knack of taking a subject and making it entertaining." Kriti said the success of ‘Luka Chuppi’ gave her the confidence to take risks and it made her sign the film.
On work front, Kriti will next be seen in Pan-India film, 'Adipurush' with Prabhas, 'Bachchan Pandey', 'Bhediya', 'Hum Do Hamaare Do', 'Ganapath' and another unannounced project.Kriti Sanon to star in Quentin Tarantino’s 'Kill Bill' Hindi remake directed by Anurag Kashyap?
