Actress Aditi Rao Hydari recently visited the P&G Shiksha School in Hyderabad to support a cause close to her heart. In 2004 P&G India initiated the P&G Shiksha programme since then, it has seen immense growth and the backing of many well-known celebrities.
Aditi, who was seen in ROCKSTAR, DELHI 6 and MURDER 3, strongly believes in promoting education for the girl child and giving them opportunities for their future. She has been a constant support for the program since its inception, and believes that every girl deserves the right to education. Aditi mingled with the girls and relived her favourite childhood memories.
Speaking about the cause Aditi said, “I was lucky to have got solid education and I desire the same for every girl child in the country. Girl child can be empowered by providing her good education, that’s the way forward and for our country to go from strength to strength. P&G Shiksha is addressed the need of the hour by intervening at the right time 6 new classrooms and a library here, she said. It is amazing to see so many girls in the class here now.” Recollecting her schooling days she said, “I was scared and never liked maths, but Biology was my favourite subject. It was a boarding school, everyday was filled with lots of fun. I used to play basketball, volleyball and participate in sprint events. Films is what I enjoy doing, but I feel have a responsibility to give back to the society.”
