Following CBSE's announcement, several states including Maharashtra, Karnataka, Odisha and more recently West Bengal have cancelled their Class 12 board exams. In light of this development, the schedule for entrance examinations to institutions across the country is expected to be decided soon.

While institutes like Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) and Symbiosis International have opted to conduct their respective entrance tests in online proctored mode, several others are yet to make a decision. Exam dates for entrance tests like JEE Main, NEET UG, CUCET are likely to be announced by the government in a week or two's time.


JEE Main


From this session, the JEE-Mains is being conducted four times a year to offer flexibility to students and a chance to improve their scores. The first phase in February was followed by the second in March, while the next phases were scheduled for April and May. However, they were postponed after an exponential rise in COVID cases during the second wave of the pandemic.

As per the latest update by PTI, The Ministry of Education will soon review the situation to decide on conducting the two remaining editions of engineering entrance exams JEE-Mains and medical entrance exam NEET in August. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will release JEE Main 2021 examination dates for both sessions at least 15 days before the exam

JEE Advanced

The prestigious Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2021 test has been postponed in view of the coronavirus situation in the country.

Since the JEE Mains examination could not be held at the scheduled time (May 24-28), so the JEE Advanced examination, which was going to be held on July 3, has also been postponed, the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur announced.


The exam will be conducted in computer-based mode will not be held before August 31, 2021.


While no further decision was taken about NEET-UG, the registration for the exam which was supposed to commence from May 1 is expected to begin from the second week of June. The exam is likely to be conducted on August 1. However, the registration has not yet begun.


The ministry is yet to decide on the fate of the Central University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) and a decision in this regard is expected after the CBSE announces its alternative assessment criteria for class 12 boards.


The date for the West Bengal joint entrance exam has been announced—it will be held on 11 July 2021.


The BITSAT 2021 online examination that was scheduled from June 24 to June 29, 2021, has been postponed. The test will likely be conducted during July-August 2021.The registration date for the test has also been extended till June 30, 2021.


The Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) has released a timetable for the Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET). As per the schedule, common entrance tests will be held from July 5 to July 9.

The TS EAMCET exam for Agriculture and Medical stream is scheduled to be held on July 5 and July 6 whereas the exam dates for Engineering are July 7, July 8, and July 9. The exam will be conducted in two shifts, one in the morning from 9 AM to 12 PM and the afternoon shift from 3 PM to 6 PM. The application deadline has been extended till June 10.


Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is likely to announce the result for VITEEE 2021 after June 10. The institute will also conduct a re-exam for students who missed it in May due to legitimate reasons. Candidates can book their slot at between June 5 to 8.


Manipal Entrance Test (MET) for Btech programs will be held between June 11 - 14 and for BPharm / PharmD will commence from June 12. The exam will be proctored online.


The Karnataka Common Entrance Test for various vocational courses, including engineering, is scheduled to be conducted on August 28 and 29. Registration for the exam will begin on June 15. The Maths and Biology exams will be held on the first day while Physics and Chemistry on the second.


Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) will be conducted between 10-Jul-2021 to 13-Jul-2021 in an internet-based test mode. The SET General 2021 registration date has been extended till June 28.


KEAM 2021 entrance exam date has been announced by CEE Kerala. The Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical entrance exam will be conducted on July 24, 2021. The KEAM 2021 application process began on June 1 and will be closed by June 21, 2021.


The application form for Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) will be released from May 2021 and the exam is likely to be conducted in August 2021. The exam date is presumed to be released in the 2nd week of June given the recent cancellation of Maharashtra HSC Exams 2021.


Goa Common Entrance Test 2021 (GCET) which was scheduled to be held in mid-June will now be conducted on 27-Jul-2021 and 28-Jul-2021.


NCHM JEE(National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology Joint Entrance Examination) which was earlier stated to be held on June 12 has been postponed due to COVID-19. The revised date will be announced soon. The applications have been extended till 20th June 2021.


Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) was conducted on 17 January 2021.


The National Aptitude Test in Architecture(NATA) Test 1 exam has already been conducted. The date for Test 2 has been postponed to July 11.
