A private school teacher of Udaipur in Rajasthan has been terminated by the school administration as she put a picture of the Pakistan cricket team on her Whatsapp status with a caption ‘we won' after the Pakistan teams' victory on Sunday night against India in the T20 World Cup. However, the school administration has not given any reason for her termination in the letter that has gone viral on social media. In the meantime, the teacher has also apologized through a video message and said that this all was just a part of the humor.
It all started on Sunday night when the teacher named Nafeesa Atari puts a Whatsapp status that was supporting Pakistan victory in the India-Pakistan cricket match. One of the parents saw this status and immediately texted the teacher ‘you support Pakistan?’ and the teacher replied ‘yes’.
The reports say that the parent called the school administration and complained about the teacher. In the meantime, pictures of the teacher’s status and her reply went viral on social media and become an issue in the city.
Looking at the situation, the teacher apologized through a video message and said "we were watching the match and made two teams and were supporting our respective teams. It did not mean that I am supporting Pakistan."
She continued "somebody texted me that you are supporting Pakistan, the mood of laughter was going on so I said yes. It does not mean anywhere that I support Pakistan. I am Indian and I love India. I realized that it has gone wrong so I deleted the message."
But in the meantime, the school administration has terminated her. The letter says that 'Sojatiya Charitable trust in its meeting has decided to terminate teacher Nafeesa Atari from the school.’ FPJ tried to contact the school officials but could not get any additional information.
