Kolkata: MP Sunil Mondalon Tuesday claimed that there is no space for him in the BJP speaking out against the party, hinting towards rejoining the ruling Trinamool Congress.

“There is always a trusts issue from the BJPs side on those who have defected from the TMC. We are not getting adequate space here and it seems that the BJP cannot tolerate the former TMC leaders,” stated Sunil.

Slamming Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, Sunil said that Suvendu didn’t keep his words. “While defecting to the BJP fold, Suvendu said that we will work together but he didn’t keep his words for which I don’t want to talk to him,” added the BJP leader.

After another turncoat leader Sabyasachi Dutta, Sunil Mondal too took up the ‘language issue’ that led to the poll debacle for the saffron camp.

“Leaders of other states and Central Ministers came to West Bengal and spoke in some other language and not in Bengali. The Bengalis are very sentimental about their language and culture,” opined Sunil terming the BJP central leaders as ‘outsiders’.

The turncoat leader also stated that he will ‘think’ if given an offer to rejoin TMC.

Meanwhile, another TMC MP Kalyan Bandhopadhyay stated that Sunil is a ‘third grade’ leader and to stay in the limelight is hinting towards rejoining TMC.

Notably, ever since the ruling TMC came back with landslide victory several turncoat leaders and cadres are showing their interest in rejoining the party. The interest of defecting back gained momentum after BJP national vice-president Mukul Roy rejoined the TMC camp a few days ago.

TMC urges Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla to disqualify turncoat MPs; Suvendu Adhikari to take legal route if Mukul Roy fails to resign from MLA post
