Kolkata: The ruling Trinamool Congress will hold a closed-door meeting tomorrow where poll analyst Prashant Kishor is likely to be present.

According to party sources, there will be several organizational changes in the districts and a strategy to fight the parliamentary election in 2024 will also be discussed.

“There are chances that TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee will be given more charges and several other organizational changes especially in the districts will be made,” claimed the sources.

The TMC sources also said that the West Bengal Chief Minister will take the final call of ‘ghar wapsi’ (return home) of the defected TMC leaders.

Notably, former TMC MLAs Dipendu Biswas, Sonali Guha along with Sarala Murmu who had defected to the Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of the assembly polls have shown interest in returning back to the TMC fold post-election and the TMC supremo is likely to take the final call tomorrow.

According to the TMC sources, though the TMC poll analysts have agreed to bring back few but the final thing will be decided by the supremo.

It is pertinent to mention that soon after the landslide victory of the Trinamool Congress in the recently concluded Assembly polls the TMC supporters and cadres already started portraying the TMC supremo as the probable next Bengali Prime Minister of India in the 2024 parliamentary election.

It can be recalled that during the assembly polls, TMC Supremo Mamata Banerjee had also shown her interest in contesting the Lok Sabha polls from Varanasi that was largely criticized by the BJP leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Varanasi constituency is considered to be the stronghold of Modi.

“There are chances to retain the poll analyst Prashant Kishor to chalk out the strategy of the 2024 Lok Sabha election and also civic polls due in a couple of days. Kishor said that the TMC will get 200 plus seats and the BJP will not reach triple digit and exactly the result was the same. So he will be further needed to chalk out plans on behalf of the TMC,” further mentioned the sources.
