Khachrod (Ujjain district, Madhya Pradesh): Post-vaccination glitches continue to trouble citizens as many people are receiving vaccination certificates without getting the jab while many people are receiving them with errors.

For instance, Mohammed Rafique, a resident of Jawahar Marg in Khachrod, returned to India after spending a long time abroad. As soon as he arrived, he got vaccinated on April 12. He was shocked as the name mentioned in the vaccination certificate was only “Mohammed”. Now, Rafique is running from pillar to post to get his name corrected, as without it, he cannot travel abroad.

Ashok Porwal received first vaccine dose. But he did not receive verification on his mobile phone. He too is running from pillar to post to receive verification so that he can receive second dose. Porwal said when he visited vaccination centre, he was told that no information is available. “If they can’t solve my problem, who will solve it?” Porwal questioned.

Now people here are questioning the process, saying errors in vaccination certificates create problems for them. Sub-divisional magistrate Purshottam Kumar said only health department can address the problem.

When contacted, Dr Sanjay Patel, vaccination incharge, said error in certificate can be rectified while a revised certificate can be made. Both of them should be kept together.

Guidelines

According to guidelines issued by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, a photo ID proof of the applicant is mandatory during the time of registration for Covid vaccine. This needs to be verified at vaccination centre. Once a dose is administered, the beneficiary receives an SMS on his/her registered mobile number. Then, a QR code-based certificate is sent to same mobile number.
