Ujjain: Driver, cleaner, cattle killed as speeding vehicle rams into tree

Ujjain: A speeding loading vehicle rammed into a tree and overturned killing the driver, cleaner and claves on board on Friday in early hours of morning, near Nalva village on Barnagar Road. The accident was so dreadful that the front portion of the vehicle’s body had to be cut to take out the dead bodies.

According to Mahakal police and Ingoriya police which rushed to the spot, the cattle were being ferried to Barnagar from Ghosla. The deceased were identified as driver Arjun (23) resident of Ghosla and Jagdish Nath (30) resident of Ghosla. Kin of Arjun told police that he set out with the loading vehicle in the night for Barnagar.

Residents of the area were miffed on the non-cooperative behaviour of the Ujjain municipal corporation’s (UMC) officials and veterinary doctors and said neither UMC arranged to lift the injured cattle nor did the veterinary doctors came to treat them.
