Mumbai: A recent 'Restart Feedback Survey' undertaken by the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) has revealed that the passengers are eagerly awaiting the return to normalcy of flight operations.
Furthermore, passengers are becoming comfortable with air travel in the ‘new normal’. Nearly 98.4 per cent of passengers flying to and from CSMIA found the airport to be safer than bus or train stations while 99.6 per cent found air travel to be the most reliable mode of transport, amid the current Novel Coronavirus pandemic.
The survey was conducted on 1,386 passengers. It showed a change in travel purpose with business travel gaining momentum as 54.7 per cent passengers travelled for work while 43.3 per cent used air travel to go back home. Bijoy Chatterjee, who recently flew to Delhi from the CSMIA said, “The arrangements made by the airport authorities were absolutely fine. The hygienic care was taken at all levels and social distancing was aptly maintained."
The survey revealed that all of the travellers are happy with the new procedures implemented by the CSMIA in the light of the pandemic. The CSMIA has also started contactless payment and adopted eco-friendly methods, amongst others.
Furthermore, the airport continues to undertake severe precautionary measures, including screening of departing passengers, maintaining social distancing, and wearing masks. Additionally, CSMIA has positioned plexiglass at all counters to keep social distancing along with stationing hand sanitizers at all touchpoints.
