Mira Bhayandar: Walking is no less than a circus for citizens of Kashimira

06:33 PM Jun 14, 2021 | Suresh Golani

No, this photograph is not clicked in some remote village, but this is the stark reality of Meenakshi Nagar, a densely populated urban area in Kashimira, where people are forced to risk their lives by walking on reedy concrete strips passing over a huge drain to commute in and out of their locality.

The reason is that the alternate road gets inundated leaving it battered and unusable during the monsoons.

Notably, the ward is represented by none other than MBMC’s first citizen (Mayor). “While the RCC slab work will take some time, the road is being repaired so that people can easily walk over it,” said Executive Engineer Suresh Vakode.
