Maha: Fresh 'letter-war' erupts between CMO-Raj Bhavan

Yet another 'letter-war' erupted between the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi and the state Raj Bhavan, this time a fallout of the recent Sakinaka brutal rape incident.

The Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari had recently written to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray expressing concerns over the tragic incident and urged the latter to call a special session of Maharashtra Legislature to discuss the specific (Sakinana) issue and the safety of women in general.


Man killed during brawl, murder accused on bail arrested

A murder accused who was out on bail was arrested on Tuesday for killing a 46-year-old man during a drunken brawl in suburban Gowandi, police said.


Khandu Maruti Dahibhate, the deceased, worked with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, said a police official.

Look-out notice issued against two accused

The crime branch of Mumbai Police has issued a look-out notice against two absconding accused in the pornography case allegedly involving businessman Raj Kundra.

The notice was issued against Yash Thakur alias Arvind Srivastava and Pardeep Bakshi on Sunday, a police official said.

Bakshi was allegedly connected directly to Kundra, while Thakur was also wanted in the case, he said.

The charge sheet filed in the case names the duo, the official added.
