A major scuffle broke out between the estranged allies Shiv Sena and BJP on Wednesday over the alleged scam in the land acquisition for Ram Temple. Workers from BJP’s youth wing had gathered in front of Sena Bhavan in Dadar to protest against their demand seeking clarification on the scam. Sena activists also gathered to counter their agitation. They came face to face and started shouting slogans against each other. The police had to intervene and disburse them.
Around 40 Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) activists have been detained by the police. However, BJYM workers have alleged that the Sena workers had assaulted them. On the other hand, Shiv Sena leader Sada Sarvankar claimed that BJP workers had hatched a plan to attack Shiv Sena Bhavan as they were marching with stones and bricks. He has denied BJP’s charge of assault.
Sena and BJP workers came face to face after Sena MP Sanjay Raut supported the allegations levelled by AAP MP Sanjay Singh had demanded a clarification from the trust. On Tuesday, the party’s mouthpiece Saamna had made a strong case for the intervention of the prime minister and RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat to explain their stand.
BJP had organised a ‘Phatkar Morcha’ against the Sena for their recent comments on the alleged Ayodhya Ram Temple construction scam.
Meanwhile, the scuffle resulted in a massive traffic jams in the area. However, the police, who were present at the spot, swung into action and cleared it.
Hours before the fight between Sena and BJP workers, the Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut had said that the scam allegations against Shree Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust have seriously hurt the sentiments of the people.
