Robbers leave family blood soaked!

A gang of 5 to 6 suspects armed with iron-rods, hammers and knives sneaked into a house at about 3 am and mounted a violent assault on Ismail, Ramzan and Rubina before  fleeing with gold ornaments, cash and cell phones.

Bhayandar : A senior citizen was amongst three members of a family that landed into hospital following a brutal attack on them by a gang of armed robbers who had sneaked into their house in Pelhar village near Nallasopara during the wee hours of Tuesday.

According to police, the horrifying crime was reported from the house of Ismail Pathan at Vanganpada area. Ismail Pathan (70), his son Ramzan (25) and daughter Rubina (27) were fast asleep when a gang of 5 to 6 suspects who had covered their faces with handkerchiefs sneaked into the house from the backyard at about 3 am. Once inside the house robbers who were armed with iron-rods, hammers and knives mounted a violent assault on Ismail, Ramzan and Rubina before fleeing with gold ornaments, Rs 9,000 cash and four mobile phones. The profusely bleeding Pathan family was rushed to a nearby hospital. However, Ram-zan and Ismail were later shifted to Nobel Hospital in Nallasopara (East) where their condition continues to remain critical.

Investigations revealed that Ismail Pathan had been deputed as a security personnel to guard trespassing on the privately owned vacant plot on which he was housed along-with his family. His wife had recently left for their native place.

The police have reportedly recovered empty liquor bottles near the crime spot arousing suspicion that the suspects had consumed alcohol before striking the house. N.C. Patil, Senior Police Inspector from Valiv police station, is further investigating the case and hunt for other culprits is on.
