The army battalion at Gulmarg, with the help of locals, repaired the structure of the hundred-year-old Shiv temple. The landscape and pathway leading to the temple have also been redesigned and rebuilt. This temple was constructed in 1915 by Maharani Mohini Sisodia, wife of erstwhile Maharaj Hari Singh of Jammu and Kashmir.

The temple required extensive renovation since no restoration work had taken place since long.
