MUMBAI: Bank of India had things much their own way as they easily defeated Goregaon SC 4- 1 in a Super Division match of the Mumbai District Football Association ( MDFA) league, played at the Goan Spo
rts Association ( GSA) ground, Cross Maidan.
Results: At GSA ground, Cross Maidan – Super Division: Bank of India 4 ( Sohel Nair, Asif Pawaskar, Gauraj Surve, Shrikant V) bt Goregaon SC 1 ( Akshay P).

Millwal score over Strikers
MUMBAI: Millwal FC scored a hard- fought 2- 1 win against Strikers SC in a Second Division knockout play- off match of the Mumbai District Football Association ( MDFA) league, played at the St Xaviers ground, Parel.
Bradley Tellis and Sheldon Crasto were on target for Millwal, while Strikers pulled one back through Ravish Dalt39Souza.
Results: At St Xaviers ground, Parel – Div- II knockout play- off: Falcons SC, Mulund 2 ( Abidan Joshua, Akshay Shenderkar) bt Sellebrity SC 1 ( Lendyl Machado).

Air India scrape past RBI
MUMBAI: Air India defeated Reserve Bank of India ( RBI) 5- 3 via the penalty shootout in a league match of the 15th Goan Sports Association ( GSA) veterans football tournament for the Late Aniceto Fernandes Memorial Trophy, at the GSA ground, Cross Maidan. The teams were tied 1- 1 at the end of normal time.
Results: Air India 5 ( Tapan Ghosh, Shyam Sawant, Naushad Moosa, Santan Dalt39Souza, Anil Laxman) beat Reserve Bank of India 3 ( Simon Fernandes, Dolfred Pereira, P Milind) via the tiebreaker after full time ended 1- 1.
RCF, Shivshakti post easy wins
MUMBAI: Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers and Shivshakti posted easy wins in the Mumbai Mayor Cup Statae- level Kabaddi Tournament, which commenced in Mumbai at the Dharmaveer Sambhajiraje Maidan in suburban Vikroli on Monday.
RCF ran out 30- 11 victors against Sai Sports in the mens league while Shivshakti, who are the favourites in the womens section, crushed Akanksha ( Pune) 70- 12 and then demolished Rachana ( Nashik) 33- 15 as their raiding duo of Sayali Nagwekar and Rekha Sawant proved to be simply unstoppable. RCF have to thank veteran Sachin Pashte and catcher Sandeep Bhat for their success, which was never in doubt. Dena Bank was the other team to impress while they carved out a convincing 25- 14 win over the Railway Police. They were well served by raider Makarand Masurkar and catcher Amit Chavan.
Hosts Brihan Mumbai Mahapalika, who are not expected to do much managed to put it across their subsidiary BEST Kala Kreeda Mandal at 18- 12.
Among the outstation teams Chiplun Sports Club beat Tagorenagar 57- 25 without much of a sweat. Vishwa shanti had mixed fortunes in the womens section beating Gorakhnath 30- 11 but then getting a 41- 10 drubbing at the hands of Om Nav Maharashtra from Borivali.
Amar Hind Mandal, one of the better known teams, defeated Savitribai Phule 25- 14 with the help of Deepti parkar and Prajakta Kambli.

MUMBAI: EMA Partners teams all round performance helped them to defeat Rabo Bank India team by 58 runs of the Bowl Knock- Out category of the 16th edition of the Vodafone Corporate Cricket 7s, cosponsored by Alea International Consulting and Gulf Oil and managed by Saran Sports at the Western Railway ground over the weekend.
Winning the toss, EMA Partners elected to bat first and hit 111 runs for loss of just one wicket in their seven overs quota.
Suryakant played a quicker fire innings of 33 runs in just nine deliveries, while he got good support from Ashley F,
