Cong to stage sit- in at Lakhnadaun

ngress Committee will stage a sit- in and demonstrate at Lakhnadaun in Seoni district on Thursday, against cooperative minister Gaurishankar Bisen for his alleged anti- tribal behaviour. The sit- in and demonstration will be attended by AICC general secretary and state in- charge B K Hariprasad and state Congress president Kantilal Bhuria. Hariprasad after the programme will return to Jabalpur from where he will go to Indore.

Charandas Mahant arriving on Aug 12

The union minister of state for agriculture and food processing, Dr Charandas Mahant, will be reaching Bhopal on August 12. Mahant will meet state Congress officebearers and party workers in the MPCC office. On August 13, he will take part in local functions.

Former statistics official passes away

Afzal Hussain, retired Joint Director of Statistics Department passed away on Tuesday. He was cremated late in the night at the Bada Bagh graveyard. He had also served as Officer in Barna Project. Afzal Hussain has left behind two daughters and a son.

Pre- Agriculture Test on Aug 21

Madhya Pradesh Vyavsayik Pariksha Mandal is going to conduct Pre Agriculture Test ( PAT- 2011) on Sunday August 21, 2011 at Gwalior, Jabalpur, Indore and Bhopal. Around 15150 candidates are going to appear in the test. Test Admit Cards have been uploaded on Board website www. vyapam. nic. in.

The candidates can download their admit cards as the admit cards ( TAC) are not being sent by post.

Debate contest in Maharshi Vidya Mandir

A debate competition was held at the Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Ratanpur on Wednesday. The topic of bebate was ‘ India has the potential to lead the world’. The competition was held for the students of classes tenth to twelfth.

Students presented their views ‘ for’ and’ against’ the motion. The competition was organised in the context of the Independence Day.

18000 not happy with college, branch Dissatisfied with colleges and branches allotted in the first round of online off- campus counselling, over 18000 candidates have applied for upgradation, said DTE sources.

After allotment, 20,000 candidates seeking admission in BE in different government and private colleges have reported to the allotted institutions. They include candidates who were applied and chosen for tuition fee waiver seats. Nearly half of 38000 candidates allotted for admission in the first round are not satisfied with college and branch.

Anticipatory bail plea of UP MLA turned down Bhopal’s Additional district and sessions court, on Wednesday, rejected the anticipatory bail application of BSP MLA of Pratapgarh ( UP) Brijendra Mishra, who is facing charges of his involvement in a murder case.. Uttar Pradesh government had applied for withdrawal of his name from list of accused but the victim’s family had protested in HC of UP. The case went to the SC, which authorised MP HC to hear the case. The HC, in turn, assigned the case to the CJM court of Bhopal. Warrant was issued and Mishra had applied to ADJ for anticipatory bail but it was rejected.
