They met acting vice chancellor Prof Rajkamal and sought to know the reason behind postponement of exams. Not having enough details about the postponement of exams, Prof Rajkamal called registrar R D Musalgaonkar to talk to the enraged students.

alt147 The registrar told the students that the decision of extending exams was taken by vice chancellor Prof P K Mishra. He said that the VC in his order stated that CS

exam dates were coinciding with the LLB exams therefore the latter exams should be extended,alt148 said ABVP leader Deependra Pal, who led the protesting students.

The students doubted the registraralt146s statement as the VC was on leave on Thursday.

To this, the registrar informed the students that Prof Mishra had issued the orders some days back but the note- sheet to this effect reached his office on Thursday.

alt147 After receiving the orders, I extended the exams of third and fifth semester immediately,alt148 Musalgaonkar said admitting to

the dilly- dallying by the DAVV. Taking a dig at the DAVV, the students stated that the university did not even inform the exam centres why it was extending the exams.

alt147 The exam centres authorities suggested us to go to the university to know the reason behind the postponement of exams. They asked us to tell them as well, if we learn, the reason for the move,alt148 the students said.

Student leader Nimish Pathak said that he along with a few students had asked the university, a fortnight back, to ensure that CS and LLB exams do not coincide. At that time, the university officials had said that LLB exams canalt146t be extended for CS exams. alt147 LLB students need not have to do anything with the CS exams, the registrar had said previously,alt148 Pathak said.
