Special arrangements to be made on procession route

The IMC has decided to assess patchwork on roads, arrangements to drain out storm water and dilapidated houses in view of procession to be taken out on the occasion of Anant Chaturdashi.

The decision

to this effect was taken on Monday during inspection of procession route by Mayor KM Moghe, Industry Minister Kailash Vijayvergiya, IMC Commissioner Yogendra Sharma, health department in- charge Munnalal Yadav and PWD in- charge Jawahar Mangwani.

The tour kicked off from Malwa Mill square at 7 am and it covered Malwa Mill, Pardesipura, Bhandari Mill, Rajkumar Mill, Hukumchand Mills, Jail Road, Jawahar Marg, Sitala Mata Bazaar, Khajuri Bazaar, MG Road, Rajwada, Krishnapura Bridge, Riverside Road and Shanti Path.

Directives were issued on levelling of road near rear gate of Malwa Mill, near pond of Rajkumar Mills, and road from Vallabh Marg to Shivajia Nagar. Similarly, directives were also issued to repair all drain chambers at Bhandari Bridge and Jail Road, patchwork on Sitala Mata Mandir Road and removal of building material of an under construction building in Santha Bazaar.

It was decided to assess dilapidated houses along the route and also to place police personnel at these places to stop public from using the buildings. It was decided to light up the entire procession route and clean it by lifting garbage.

BJP city unit president Shankar Lalwani, SDMs, ADMs and other officials of the administration, officials of traffic police and Dicoms were also present.

The tour concluded at Rajwada where Moghe saw an overflowing garbage collection box near Shiv Vilas Palace. He rebuked the official concerned and supervised the clearing operation personally.
